patchworkpatchwork quilt lawns of bright colored summer clothes,patchwork
bodies sprawl across the grass, open to the sky, every pore thirsting for sun, summer loosens joints, relaxes muscles clenched against icy winter wind,
till people are puddles, puddles talk rises above clustered groups, mixing with music- a heat haze of incendiary sound not your usual brown, orange, pink clouds sprawled on the horizon line like sweating beachgoers,
this air is bright electric green, cerulean blue, carmine red- the color you see behind closed eyes,
colors hyperbolic.
it is the smell of sunscreen, rich and voluptu
SteamIt’s like stepping one foot after another into a boiling hot tub, skin reddens, flushed heat and water pressing in to envelope me almost unbearable, but craved all the same testing my limits easing myself into this melting pot of trouble. (boil, boil) the laughter, ribald comments deep breaths to control the pulse thumping in my temple then lowering into the water exhaling steam and the weight of worries tension easing out of muscles in this familiar, painful environment exothermic heat and laughter like the extra strength jets pressure on my back pSteam
summer memoriesunder a golden eye the ribcage in the body of the night creaks the fragile bones of childhood ready to fly rhythm in the night thumping heart in the warm darkness blood wishing between you and me buzzing in our ears vibrating through layers of flesh too big for the skin it holds we step out of them- our exoskeletons tasting stars on our lashes the moon winks and light comes Our silent symphonysummer memories
